Peltrak provides a robust mapping center that can be accessed via the Internet or through a server map database. The mapping center provides multiple layers of geographic information (road types, bridges, tunnels, landmarks etc..) and a variety of location services. Vehicle position, speed and direction can be displayed in real-time on the map or in detailed history/activity reports. Dispatchers can zoom directly to exact addresses, street intersections, or locate the closest vehicle to a specified address.
Peltrak has expertise in products that cover the full range of wireless data communications including GSM/GPRS, CDMA, Satellite, and WLAN. In addition, Peltrak supports short range communications services for in-vehicle communications from PDAs and laptops, including 802.11 and Bluetooth. The Peltrak Locator is the feature-rich device at the heart of our Services System, providing vehicle-monitoring capabilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Peltrak was the first to market with GPRS based wireless vehicle services. Since releasing the first Locators built on this wireless platform, Peltrak has improved and fine-tuned the service. Peltrak manufactures a number of Locators on various networks including CDMA and satellite.
Addtionally a number of peripherals can be connected to Peltrak Locators, including laptops, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) or Mobile Data Terminals (MDTs). A number of Peltrak developed applications for the Pocket PC platform as well as the Mobile Data Terminal including Electronic Driver Logs, Messaging between driver and dispatch personnel, Electronic form transmittal and Driver Login are also available.
